About the Authors

Diskin Clay is R. J. R. Nabisco Professor of Classical Studies at Duke University. His previous books includes Paradosis and Survival: Three Chapters in the History of Epicurean Philosophy (Michigan, 1990).

Andrea L. Purvis received her Ph.D. in Classical Studies from Duke University in 1998. She currently works as Translator and Assistant Editor of the forthcoming Landmark Herodotus (Robert B. Strassler, ed.), and teaches in Duke University's Department of Classical Studies.
